LeoNard Thompson: Essayist, Podcaster, Speaker

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media Communications from Wilberforce University, and a Master of Library Science degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.


Former at-risk educator, now public service manager by trade, writer and speaker by heart, LeoNard has presented to nonprofit organizations, book clubs, library institutions, as well as educational, political and community associations on topics ranging from best practices for frontline public service staff, to the importance of African American readership.


He has published opinion editorials, weekly columns and essays. He has interviewed performers, practitioners, writers, politicians and personalities, as well as presided over panel discussions, hosted charity and fundraising events, and served as master of ceremonies for concerts and performances. An insightful spectator of life, he is keen on sharing his perspective with candor, warmth and sharp wit, leaving readers and listeners with something to laugh, think, or pray hard about.
